The challenge
The task was not to erase the old building, but to make it usable, safe and legible while retaining its social value and local character.
The idea
The proposal uses a lightweight, low-cost structural system, orients spaces through site analysis, creates a clear emergency route and introduces local materials that reveal rather than compete with the original.
The outcome
Warm, flexible interiors progress from arrival to gathering, with patterned shade and controlled light reviving the historic details.
